kigurimi finds..

seems there's a lot of egl and cosplay outfits now coming out of china and being listed on ebay here. when looking at them i noticed the kigurimi masks and had a quick google as i wondered where i could get one.

i couldn't find anywhere that sold them but did find this curious page here and some great galleries here.

back to cosplay and egl - has anyone ordered from the above ebay seller? looks like some amazing and really inexpensive items. certianly will help it all going over here.

xx

To be honest, I noticed that many of the pics they use to advertise their suits are just ripped off from cosplayers and top-ranked Japanese designers who ask many times the amount they charge. The quality is probably the same as a cheap halloween outfit. I'd save my money for something better.

No idea on the EGL outfits but the designs for the cosplay stuff is based on the anime/manga series. So thus the 'designers' would be the person who drew the comic / characters not the japanese store selling the costumes??

As to where things are made, things - clothes, tech etc are made in asia and then branded packaged and sold to the west or even japan at increased rates. Even for example for hardware as i discovered about my Lite ON DVD recorder.

Much like a friend who did some painting in an apple sauce bottling plant. You can guess the rest.

There are some sites from where you can buy those masks
http://kanakig.accsalon.com/
http://www.fantescadesign.com/
www.buildupstudiosigma.com
http://www2u.biglobe.ne.jp/~kiglumin/

The last two are japanese sites and you would need to know japanese.

Also, there are yahoo groups dedicated to Kigurumi

I do a lot of wedding DVDs and am looking for an encoder that can utilize my multi core CPU. I currently use cinema craft encoder which I'm told is one of the best quality encoders for picture quality. However I need something a bit more modern as it's an older bit of software now and would like to encode an hours footage in an hour and not 15 :) Any recommendations?
