Depends on what sort of doll you're aiming for, but in general, yes. ;)
Modern dolls are generally plastic much more often than not, right? So there's not too many other ways to get a human person to look and move like they're plastic.
(of course this also makes the whole thing expensive, and difficult. If I could get paid to dollify women, that would be different, but this endeavor requires a serious budget if you're serious about making a face-to-face doll at all)
