make-overs in bulk

i know I saw this before, although i have no idea if i actually posted it:

This photo below was taken at a competition in June 2008 involving 9 women for best makeover.
They had every possible beauty treatment available to them over a period of 12 hours before the contest.
Look at the before and after photos. Conclusion - there are no ugly women only poor women.
The woman 2nd from the left won the contest.

some wags commented that beer has the same effect.

They all got made over using the same standard look and it's what we see allover the media - look at the hair styling for example. Cookie cutter glamor.

The same thing is present in fetish. And it is so "funny" to see all the hooded females coming out looking the same - the dominatrix.

All of these are trying to look outlaw on one level, but end out looking like carbon copies of one another.

Perhaps even this is an appeal in itself and is expressed as trying to achieve "perfection".

How odd is that in the end? It's like this nightmare of going to a very upscale town and all the women you see are clones of one another. We're getting there faster than you think.

Go to the fifth season of "Twilight Zone" and watch "Number 12 Looks Just Like You". It's a world where everyone is beautiful and identical to each other--with all individuality being removed. The original story was written in 1952, so this is really nothing new.

In short: Most dolls are mass-produced in the same factories using the same gear.

All Barbies look alike, oh noes. *lol*

How much of a problem is this, really, for folks like us?

Yes, there's a custom market for both dolls (dollfies, perhaps?) and for women who want to be them, but...

For the most part, yes, the fetish is about becoming The Pretty Object, and not being an individual so much, really.

Again, is this a problem really? *lol*

Objectification, by itself, is to be alluring above all else, so identicalness is going to be a part of what happens in the transformation. But should that mean everything and one are the same? One would hope that people are bright enough to be able to rise above the sameness and be something unique on their way to being an object of desire.

Unfortunately the stereotypes are so powerful most people can't break away from them and so everything tends toward them. This is the reality out there. Obviously everyone is not achieving this level of conformity to that standard, but when you see the MODELS of a genre, like fetish, it's pretty much cookie cutter stuff - the bodies are almost identical, the lips the same, most of the eye make up identical... can't do much with a nose except surgery and then they come out looking the same.

These people are posterchildren. Human "live stock" advertizing for the cosmetic and plastic surgery industry. Nothing less nothing more.

Reminds me of pimp my ride.

But a big part of the transformation is also a rigorous work out schedule to get in shape along with very elaborate cosmetic surgery.

This is real doll suit.

I know what this blog is about and the approach it takes, but this picture just reminds me of why I am a feminist...
